Makita 40V max XGT Hedge Trimmer Kit 30in Brushless Cordless

Description

Standard hedge trimmers leave ragged chewed branch ends when dull blades lack the torque to slice cleanly through woody ornamental stems. The Makita 40V max XGT Hedge Trimmer Kit 30in Brushless Cordless machine delivers clean, scissor-like branch shearing across wide commercial hedges. It carries an expansive 30-inch double-sided blade. Sustained wide-open throttle trimming drains battery packs within 50 minutes.

A commercial brushless motor mounts inside a die-cast aluminum crankcase that dissipates heat under continuous branch friction. The cutter bar utilizes double-sided laser-cut alloy steel blades with three sharpened cutting edges per tooth induction-hardened to Rockwell 58C. The rotating rear handle decouples from the main motor frame through rubber isolation dampers that block hand-arm vibration.

Double Sided Extended Commercial Trimming Matrix

Five-position rotating rear handle lets operators switch between horizontal hedge top trimming and vertical face shaping without wrist contortions. The electronic three-speed selector manages blade cadence to match foliage density.

• 40V max XGT commercial brushless motor delivers up to 4400 strokes per minute for clean branch shearing.
• 30-inch double-sided reciprocating blade shears foliage in both stroke directions for fast shaping.
• Rotating five-position rear handle locks at 0, 45, and 90-degree angles for balanced body ergonomics.
• Three-speed electronic dial sets blade speeds at 2000, 3600, and 4400 SPM to optimize run time.
• Reverse blade rotation feature backs out jammed branches at the touch of an electronic push button.
• Blade tip protector shields cutting teeth from impact damage when working against stone retaining walls.
• Included 4.0 Ah XGT battery and rapid charger deliver quick turnaround on commercial maintenance routes.

Electric Motor Load Bench Telemetry

Shearing dense cedar hedges at 4400 SPM draws 16.8 Amps from the 40 Volt battery pack. Gear case surface temperature levels off at 120°F after 45 minutes of uninterrupted ornamental trimming. The reciprocating blade mechanism draws 510 Watts of continuous electrical power. Operating sound levels register an ultra-quiet 73 dBA at the operator ear.

Commercial Turf Route Maintenance Mandates

Commercial landscapers, hospital grounds crews, and municipal estate staff shape formal bushes without gas mix headaches using this battery kit. Do not use this trimmer for rough clearing of wild brambles or tree suckers exceeding 7/8-inch thickness because teeth will wedge. Never pressure-wash the tool chassis or battery dock.

• Spray the double-sided blades with resin remover and protective oil after each landscape shift.
• Check the blade guide bolts for proper clearance shimming every 30 days of active service.
• Wipe down the rubber handle grips and battery terminals with a dry clean rag each morning.
